Some of the (German) readers were wondering why Ngumbe appears to be so much tinier than the other elephants.
That’s simple. He’s African, but he’s no Bush Elephant! He’s a Forest Elephant!!!
Or maybe he’s even a morph of the species mentioned above and he belongs to the very rare Pygmy Elephants. Who knows? Mabe he’s one of the last ones of his species and he doesn’t know himself… Let’s not hope so!:)

  1. Greg Bulmash says:

Think of it this way. There are some kinds of fish that will stay small when kept in a small bowl, but grow large if kept in a large tank. Ngumbe has been living in an apartment.

  2. admin says:

Hehe, I guess that must be it. Interesting fact with the goldfish. Matches what I’ve been reading on “Insular Dwarfism” (look they had tiny elephants on Crete)!

  3. Mort says:

I didn’t think elephants were capable of being sexist… Showed me.

  4. Pygmy elephant? Midget elephant? Little elephant? What’s the correct PC version?!

Dwarf elephant! Or is that a WOW character?

  5. Kenneth Drake says:

Ngumbe reminds me of Charles Emerson Winchester III from M*A*S*H

  6. admin says:

@ Kenneth: That’s an awesome deduction!!… He was quite snotty with some signs of a warm heart. right?
@Frank: There are dwarf elephants in WOW?!! Oh man, another reason to try the game, but I’d fear for the schedule of the comic…
