I mean, a man "betrays" humanity in both, but in D9 he accidentally helps the aliens while pragmatically trying to survive, whereas in Avatar, he's an idealist fighting against the mercenary wing of a megacorporation. Except for the photorealism of the effects, I can't see any more similarities. I thought they were nothing alike.
