Hm, somehow seagulls aren’t especially Ngumbe’s lucky charms as you can also see in the recent past.
Another 80ies movie reference walks by!:) I haven’t seen the remake (and I don’t plan to). Here’s someone who watched them both and compares them. I only know that the original version will be forever a very nice childhood memory and I always feel touched while watching it no matter how many silly 80ies haircuts it includes!
You’re right Sarah, it seems the entire seagull species will be Ngumbe’s bain :O
I saw the new Karate Kid… I wish they’d just called it the Kung Fu kid and let it be a movie that stands on its own. They included a few fun references to the original Karate Kid, which I liked, but they didn’t try to make it so much like the original that you felt like you were just watching a remake. The only thing I really didn’t like about the new Karate Kid was that in the original, the kid was a good kid. He was really trying to make the most of the situation he was in and get along with his mom. In this one, it’s the typical plot device they use today of “whiny kid shows he’s not all bad and deep inside he’s really a good person.” It’s an overused plot device these days, if you ask me.
