Isn’t this guest strip just fantastic! Sarah totally flipped when we received this one.

This absolutely terrific strip was done by Haiko Hörnig and Marius Pawlitza, themselves the creators of webcomic selective retention. Their Facebook-Fanpage describes the comic something like this: “Selective retention is an almost forgotten dream, risen from mnemonic spheres, the ether beyond all imagination. Plus fart-jokes.” You can’t not like this!

By now Sarah should be in Romania in the city of Satu Mare, to hold a workshop about comics. (YAY, comics!) She said she will try to find the time to tweet, so please have some patience.

Hi All,

just in case you are confused by today’s strip, I’m really going to Romania on Sunday. I was invited to hold a lecture on… wait for it… COMICS! Yay!

Therefore we have some guest comics lined up over the next two weeks at least, counting from today.

This first one was done on veeeerry short notice by our friend Thekla Löhr who does her own regular comic on her blog TeMeL. It’s in German but you can still enjoy her artwork.

Dear Readers, I’m quite a bit late with today’s post. Sorry for the delay but I just didn’t manage to do the translation before now. It was NOT Sarah’s fault (Please see 2. below)!

Okay, we have two things to say today:

1. We have an announcement to make: Due to some reaaaally tight deadlines coming up for Sarah, starting Thursday, May 10 we will have two weeks worth of guest strips coming up. Which means there will be a break in the current storyline. We really did not want to do this in the middle of a story but it just couldn’t be avoided this time. Really sorry for that but rest assured that we have some great and really fun guest strips lined up.

2. We were away the whole weekend at TWO cons: On Saturday I was at the Intercomic in Cologne and then on Sunday I joined Sarah at the Role Play Convention 2012 where Sarah and I and fellow artist Mario Bühling were visited by a lot of friendly elves, Jedi, Stormtroopers, dwarves, trolls and the like. It was AWESOME!

Sarah was even forced delighted to put on halfling armor, to defend us against all forces of evil that came our way. I for one felt very safe knowing she can wield that sword.

In the meantime I had a very exciting and exhausting weekend, because I took part in a big exhibition of Cologne’s illustrators. I even held a little speech about doing webcomics and I was super-nervous. Gladly, everything went well, I didn’t throw up on stage and the whole festival was a big success for everybody.

Here’s a small picture of my exhibition corner. I’m a true “on line artist”. Harr.

BAM! And here’s your new storyline, guys! As you can probably guess already it is going to be a teensy bit absurd… So, nothing out of the ordinary.

And here’s another cultural gap to fill… The Poo-Poo-Phant really does exist. And Germany he’s called Kackophant. And he has his own song! The lyrics pretty consist in what El Fungo’s singing in the third panel. The mythical creature was designed by Fil, a very talented comedian and cartoonist. His homepage is worth a look even if you don’t understand German.:)

See, aren’t you glad you learned something valuable about Germany you won’t read about in the media?

…Thankfully I have very understanding people around me so that I don’t feel I have to justify myself any more for certain “childish” decisions. It certainly helps to have so many cartoonist/nerd friends  :D
