What a weekend!
We had a giant Gaming Convention (Gamescom) in Cologne and the city was just full of Super Mario cosplayers, Kinect booths, Playstation Move booths and people, people, people.
The REALLY good thing was that I got free tickets to a preview screening of Scott Pilgrim!! It’s officially supposed to open in January (!!!) in Germany, so you can guess my ultimate happiness!!!
And I loved it! If I was the creator of the comics, I’d be happy as hell to have gotten such a charming and lovely movie adaptation. It really rocked!

Plus, I got to try out Dance Central on the Kinect and “performed” Pokerface with a couple of friends. So, what more can you want from a weekend?:D

I’m sorry, I’ve got no more things to write about this. It just took me too much time to finish that strip and I’m kinda exhausted… But, hey, enjoy the Double Feature!

I just came back from watching “Toy Story 3” and I’m still all welled up (in a good way). I can honestly say that Toy Story is one of the best movie trilogies out there. So go and see it now!
And go and see Scott Pilgrim too! It’s only coming out in Germany in JANUARY (can you believe this?!?), so I cannot tell you how it is.
Sadly, despite of all the hype I read that it’s not doing well at the box office at all… That makes me welled up too. And this time not in a good way…

Hm, somehow seagulls aren’t especially Ngumbe’s lucky charms as you can also see in the recent past.

Another 80ies movie reference walks by!:) I haven’t seen the remake (and I don’t plan to). Here’s someone who watched them both and compares them. I only know that the original version will be forever a very nice childhood memory and I always feel touched while watching it no matter how many silly 80ies haircuts it includes!

Sigh, I wish I could play the ukulele like this. Right now, I’m stuck on the Godfather Theme. I’ll work on Super Mario & Indiana Jones. Some day I’m gonna be good enough to post it here, I PROMISE!:D

Believe me, I know that this particular strip doesn’t necessarily advance the plot of the storyline, but there are certain things a cartoonist NEEDS to draw!!!
Honestly, what if I couldn’t satisfy my nerdy needs in my own little comic strip…:)

If anybody likes to know, El Fungo’s adversary was inspired by THIS very old anime series I used to watch as a kid. It’s a miracle I still had this buried in my subconcious while creating this strip.:)
